8 minutes and 30 seconds

So I didn't get a letter today, and I was bummed... But I just got something even better, a phone call!  I got to talk to Aaron today for 8 1/2 minutes and it was wonderful.  It was short, but I was able to find out a lot.  He's doing well!  He sounded good... a little different.  I'd say he sounded tired, but there was something else about his voice that sounded different, I think it was humility.  He's staying healthy and his body is holding up well.  He's met some Christian guys, one who's married and has a baby on the way.  He's sleeping well because he's so exhausted at the end of the day.  He said the physical training is hard but he's managing well.  They each have a special job and his is to be a Chaplain's aide.  So on Sundays he gets to be at church all day long and greet people and hold the door for them.  He said that he wrote a letter a couple of days ago and one yesterday, so I should start seeing them next week (Thank God!).  He said the first day they got mail he had like eight letters and everyone was jealous of him (goal accomplished!).  I'm so thankful for this relief.

Proverbs 13:12 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life."

How true this is for me right now!  Thank you Lord, You are so good.
